About Mumm Hampshires and More
Jason and I (Megan) have built a life starting in the showring. We both grew up showing at the local county fairs and IL state fair. We married the summer of 1999 and continued showing with the help both sets of parents, seeing as we were both in college and living in a rented house in town. The summer of 2001 we took a great leap of faith and bought a small farm that needed a tremendous amount of TLC. It took us 12 years, a whole lot of sweat equity, and 2 children but we have finally redone the house from top to bottom and inside to out. I can say without a question that I will be happy to not have home improvement projects. Still working on outside buildings and landscaping but getting there.
We have 2 sons, Beau(12) and Luke(7). Our own personal "Duke" boys and trust me they keep us busy. Our life is about to get even more crazy when we add a little girl to the mix in July.
Although we love our sheep that take up most of our time our main occupation is farming. We grow corn and soybeans along with a small hay patch. Jason also has a real passion for antique tractors and implements, red of course, which he has already embedded into our boys. He also is quite handy and welds all of our gates, feeders and trimming stands.
